US LASER CORP: Product Catalog
Power
Meters
U.S. Laser offers a line of power meters suitable
for use in measuring and aligning laser beams. Meters are available
with analog, digital or both displays. Detectors are either air or
water cooled depending on the laser power level, and are calibrated
against a NIST calibrated detector.

Power
Meters Boxes:
Power meter boxes are used to display the output
power signal from a power detector such as the USL model N1036. Power
detectors generate an output which is proportional to the beam power.
The meter box translates this signal to directly read the output in
watts. Meter boxes are available in two versions. One features a large
(5") analog display, the other features both analog and a digital
display. These meters are designed to be used with, and are directly
compatible with the USL model N1036 series detectors. Meter boxes come
with the BNC cable necessary for connection tot he detector.

Slide Mount Power
Meter Assembly
This laser power meter assembly is designed to
mount directly on the optical rail in the output beam path. To sample
the laser output power, or align the beam, the detector is merely slid
into the beam path, where it will directly read the laser system output
power. To return to normal system operation, the detector is slid out
of the beam path, providing an unobstructed path for the beam. The
slide mount power meter includes either a 30 watt air cooled or 150
watt water cooled detector mounted on the slide mount, and an analog
power meter assembly.

Power Detectors
These power detectors are designed to convert the
thermal energy from a laser beam to a voltage signal proportional to
output power. Depending on the output power level of the laser, the
detector will be either air or water cooled. Air cooled detectors may
be used for intermittent duty on lasers with a power level of 30 watts
or less, while higher power lasers will require a water cooled
detector. These detectors are direct replacements for detectors used in
U.S. Laser systems, and may be used wherever a compact power detecting
device is required.

Inline Power
Monitor Assembly
The inline power monitor provides a means of
continuously monitoring the output of a laser during actual processing.
A dielectrically coated beamsplitter directs a small percentage
(typically 1% - 2%) of the laser beam into a power detector which is
calibrated to display the laser output power on the matching meter
assembly. To correct for the refractive walk-off associated with the
sampling beamsplitter, an additional A/R coated beamsplitter is
provided to bring the beam back on its original path. This assembly is
recommended for use on randomly polarized multi-mode lasers, where the
user can accommodate the 2%-4% typical insertion loss.
